OVC Initiative

Sustainable Systems.
Structured Support.
Stronger Orphanage Care in Nigeria.

A data-driven, evidence-based framework that strengthens institutional partnerships, bridges support gaps, and builds sustained provision for orphanage homes across Nigeria, beginning with an assessment pilot in Abuja and Lagos.

Background Of the Initiative

Orphanage care in Nigeria spans government-owned, faith-based, and privately managed institutions. While the Child Rights Act provides legal backing for oversight, enforcement and monitoring practices vary significantly across states. Many homes operate within fragmented systems, with limited structured oversight, inconsistent regulatory enforcement, and funding instability driven by irregular or seasonal donations. These gaps affect accountability, operational stability, and the long-term wellbeing of children.

How We Work

We connect institutions, partners, and resources to strengthen orphanage care systems across Nigeria.

As an intermediary organisation, we bring people, knowledge, and resources together. We work in close partnership with government bodies, NGOs, faith-based organisations, private sector partners, and community stakeholders to identify gaps, coordinate support, and build sustainable systems that improve outcomes for children in orphanage homes.
